AI chatbots for clinics: what they should (and should not) do

5 min read

A clinic assistant can reduce front-desk load by answering approved operational questions: hours, location, insurance basics you approve, prep instructions, and how to book.

It should never invent clinical advice. Medical questions need escalation to staff, with clear wording that the bot is not a clinician.

The best first version is often a guided flow plus a short form, then a retrieval assistant grounded only in approved documents.

Pair the bot with a website that already converts: click-to-call, mobile speed, service pages, and a simple start funnel for new patients.
